I had not seen it since I was a kid, but I remember how wonderful he was then, and the few episodes I have seen now confirms it.

I am struck by one thing, though. He looks like Rupert Everett. It is very strange. I wonder whether that is why they made the latter play Holmes a couple of years ago.
