I had myself thinking that Smokey couldn't cross water. Why? The Temple had a moat. He asked Sawyer to recon when we know he could've gone all scarab/thunder/dinorawr on it. The island is an island, duh, and he could've smoke-trained off of it if water weren't an issue.

Then, I remembered that Flocke rode over from Hydra in a canoe with Ben. Hmm. Technically, I guess that's the same as walking over whatever entrance there was to the Temple. Maybe the Temple was just beside a creek, and it wasn't really a moat. He also ran into the water to help Sawyer beach his canoe.

Also, since when is driving a Submarine so much easier than a plane? Is Sawyer really thinking he can keep the active crew hostage and hijack it? Or that he and Kate can man it on their own?
