Like Brian, I liked it and disliked it at the same time (but probably for different reasons). Avendesora Send a noteboard - 19/04/2010 04:49:28 PM
The movie is a mixture of spoken word over film of scenes ranging from farms to slaughterhouses to families shopping in the grocery store along with interviews and soundbites from people like author Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation).
It's good that you didn't mention Michael Pollan, that would turn people away from the movie. :P I have all but his latest book and love them all.

Overall, it was already familiar with many of the topics so I didn't gain a lot of new information from the movie but it was still enjoyable to watch as well. It was fairly well produced and while there are some slow moments and it isn't energetic and action-packed I wouldn't call the movie a snoozer either.
Being friends and family to people who raise free-range livestock and grow organic produce, I also knew a lot of the information presented in the movie. The reason I was disappointed was because Instead of scratching the surface of each of those issues, I wanted the movie to be more in-depth about each topic. The whole Monsanto seeds thing freaks me out a little, I have to admit.

I am very thankful to have access to such wholesome food.

Have you read Fast Food Nation? If so, what did you think of it?

If so, do a review on the book board. :P
