Re: How perfect/imperfect was Lews Therin? Datakim Send a noteboard - 03/05/2010 04:53:22 PM

This lends evidence to the fact that LTT was in fact... perfect. Evidence to back this up includes the fact that he is the strongest channeler in the world, was gifted with an amazing intelligence according to RJ, is the most powerful ta'veren around, and is physically superior to other men - being extremely tall, strong and rather good looking. The Forsaken criticize him, but their criticisms seem more like compliments - Be'lal said he could never hurt someone in order to gain power, and Moghedien said he stank of goodness. Even Demandred said he was brilliant.

Well, LTT was the guy destined to fight the DO and save the world. Given how much the pattern can manipulate things you could argue that LTT being "perfect" is understandable. His genetics/education/upbringing were all carefully designed and controlled by the pattern to create someone as capable of fighting the DO as possible. That might be an explanation. He was perfect because reality itself designed him that way.

Maybe the question should not be why LTT was so perfect, but rather why Rand is not. Why did the pattern not arrange things so that Rand is the most intelligent/powerfull/perfect guy around. I mean he arguably needs to be perfect more than LTT did since he starts off from such a worse position.
