He was basically Awesome Old Guy for the first third of the series, then he sort of faded into the background with Juilian. I really, really hope he shines in ToM (although it'll be tough- Thom is great with knives and juggling, but he's also a master of politics, and I don't know how applicable that will be in the Tower of Ghenji)
