There's a 63% chance that blast has been used for 1,000 years and I'm just an idiot, but...


As far as I know, the first time blast was used as an exclamation was in Star Wars, and there was a good reason for it. Blasters. It just isn't WoT. And Sanderson just said "blast" in his twitter, so it's just a word he uses. I had a friend who said it a lot too. It's a popular word for nerds. Not something people would use in WoT, imo.


It was definitely used as an exclamation of displeasure in the 19th century in place of profanity. Just read some literature written or set during that time period. Hell, I've see it used in old movies.
