I encourage anyone reading to adjust their sexual preference (or gender, if it helps you speculate that far) to the situation.

Let's assume you're in Randland, in the current time period BUT TG is at least a century off. This means you don't have to worry about continued existence, Dragons, trolloc hordes, ashaman, etc. Let's say that you're a middle-of-the-road character with decent skills, education, and resources. You can buy a house and start a business, but you're not uber-wealthy nobility or an uneducated farmer in Emond's Field. You meet, fall in love with, and marry a clever, gutsy , attractive tomboy who has an amazing ability to read the Pattern.

Since it's only sensible to incorporate her uniqueness into your relationship and you both want a good/better life, how would you take advantage of her ability?

This idea came when I read someone suggest that Min has no real money or way of earning a living for herself. The immediate answer came that she could earn a great living by reading people for a fee. She could do it at Valan Luca's Circus of the Stars, or she could do it in a royal court, or she could start her own traveling retinue of adherents as she tours Randland meeting with rulers and powerful folk. Hell, there could be a Min-Sworn with her amazing talents!

But I imagine there's still more possibilities, and I want to give some credit to this recently-maligned character (since her selfishness is basically responsible for maiming and crippling the savior of the world).

*My* best example is that Min might be a great speculative business advisor. In Bandar Eban, for example, she could read all the people who do trade until she sees one who has a big fortune or calamity ahead of them. Since it can't be prevented (apparently), you could try to profit from what the Wheel is weaving. You could read the Sea Folk moored in the bay and make some long-standing deal with someone who isn't fated to go down at sea, or who is fated to find a great treasure... And if Min's ability extends to other living things, she could see whether a horse might go lame or blind or develop mange; and then run a nice business through breeding, selling, or racing horses.

So, you have a great relationship with a gifted woman who adores you. How would you use it to improve your situation?

Now let's apply this to the actual series, and consider ways that Rand should be using Min's gift, but isn't. Ideas?
