But it doesn't mean she lifted them 10-12 spans as you claim. She lifted them at most 5-6 spans from the deck.
See the comments below ... it's kind of a moot point, as it's likely that 10-12 Spans is the max you can lift something anyway. No matter how you see it though Egwene held them 10-12 Spans above her head, which amounts to the same thing as if she had lifted them from the ground.
