I like them both as villains! RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 01/06/2010 06:57:05 PM
Mesaana is very much the bookish, academic type, so I thought it was interesting that she got so caught up in thinking that she never really committed herself to their mission until her punishment. I just wish that RJ would stop inflicting rape on his female villains, or at the very least imply that the males went through the same thing when they were punished. It just seems to me that the Dark One is sexist, and I don't really see why a women would be affiliated with an organization like this where the men get away with slaps on the wrists and new bodies, while the women are victimized and then debased as punishment.

Alviarin is one of my favorite characters. I like thinkers who can be cool as a cucumber and keep their composure yet are ready to do things in the real world. The whole section where she considered eliminating the Sea Folk Sister was chilling because it was apparent that the only reason this didn't was because of the second Sister who was there, which proved that she was willing to back up her thoughts with actions.
"Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness."
