RJ rather thought that we have enough clues to figure out who Mesaana is. For example, this Q&A from the KoD book tour supports this:
Q: Mesaana: Do we have enough clues to know her identity?
RJ: I think so, but I'm not absolutely sure. Her Third Age role has been at least mentioned.


The Q&A about Adeleas and Ispan in contrast:
Week 2 Question: The other big murder mystery - Ispan and Adeleas. Have you given us sufficient clues in the books that you think we should be able to figure out this one? Any hints on where to look?
Robert Jordan Answers: No, I haven't given you enough information to solve the murders of Adeleas and Ispan, but they will be solved in Knife of Dreams. How's that for a hint?


So, apparently the riddle of Mesaana's identity is rather logically solvable than that Careana killed Adeleas & Ispan.
