After TGS and what BS said, it seems clear that Mesaana is indeed posing as a not that well known AS in the WT.
Usually the Brown AS Danelle is mentioned as the main suspect, though - as I posted before on the board - I believe the better arguments actually speak for the White AS Norine Dovarna as Mesaana's disguise.
Who do you think is Mesaana's 3rd Age role? And how do you think this mystery will be revealed, simply by Mesaana telling this e.g. Egwene, if she is in her hands, or will Egwene figure it out in some other way? Will Mesaana capture and try to turn Egwene via the 13+13 trick (but ultimately most likely fail of course)? BS indicated that this turning to the Shadow might come into play in ToM or AMoL.

My guess is she is some prominent Aes Sedai. She could easily have killed one of them and woven her mask of mirrors to look like them. Since the oath rod is a ter'angreal from the AOL, maybe she knows how to get around that too...
A prominent AS would be much more difficult to impersonate. We also know from various sources that Mesaana's personality lends to her being behind the scenes ... caring more about actual power than simply the appearances of power. As long as she is pulling the strings she doesn't seem to be the type to need to be in the spot light.
