Re: But the Seanchan have an advantage the Perrin did not... darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 07/06/2010 07:03:29 PM
I don't think it would take days. If we say 3 seconds per man thats 20 per minute. That means in an hour you could move 1200 men for one Damane. If you up that to 5 seconds a man that is still 720 men an hour. If you have 100 Damane they could easily move a force of 200000 men in under 3 hours at 3 seconds a man. Plus if we assume that the Seanchan have 300-400 Damane that can make usable gateways, if they conslidated their force of Damane who could make Gateways the Seanchan could move 200000 men in under an hour with little effort to the Damane.

Also Grady and Neald estimation is based on how tired they are, fresh Damane could move much quicker.

No way it takes 3 second per man, more like 30 seconds, and then there are the supplies etc ... and they have to get out of the way of the others too! You are also assuming that the Damane would remain fresh for long! How long do you think it would take to exhaust them? Grady and Neald were worn out pretty quickly despite having days of rest. We've seen how quickly Channelers get exhausted.

Like I said, certainly the damane could move the army, but it would not be an easy task.
