I would imagine being imprisoned for countless Ages could make Dark One wanting simple death. As it seen in Ishy's mind - to just destroy everything and die. And maybe driving Dragon so hard is the meaning to achieve it - destroy Wheel, destroy universe, death and nothing after that.


I think it's possible that the DO might extinguish as well, if everything else (namely all of creation and the Creator) are destroyed.
