BS recently twittered the following message:
"Some interesting reading if you're thinking/talking about Gawyn as a character can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Gawain_and_the_Green_Knight#Significance_of_the_colour_green "
This Wikipedia entry is about "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight". Obviously Gawyn was quite closely inspired by the famous Knight Gawain from the Arthur myth. Quite interesting is that there are often "beheading games" linked to Gawain. This could support the idea I proposed in the first post that Egwene (a Green Knight-variation?) might literally be threatened to be beheaded by the Seanchan (or Mesaana?), if Gawyn will somehow betray her or make a wrong decision. Of course, Min also saw a red-hot iron and an axe, which meant trouble, in Elayne's future, so she might be in danger of a beheading as well (or has to order the beheading of someone).
Finally, this comparison to Gawain makes further clear that Gawyn of course won't kill Rand as a few people believe, like Gawain would never have killed Arthur. It would make the comparison to Gawain pretty absurd. If someone will yet kill or mortally wound Rand (again), it will be rather a Mordred-character, namely Fain, Slayer, Moridin or Demandred (Fain & Ishy basically already "mortally" wounded Rand).

Mesaana's more likely. There just isn't enough time for it to be the Seanchan, imo *NM*
