I've been thinking this for a while and have finally decided to share it...
About Rand's Phantom Limb...granted it is necessary for him to relearn to use the sword with one hand so that he will be able to fight without the OP, and it may be simpler just to wreak havoc if he is holding the OP, but I think it would be a little disconcerting for him to always fight with only one hand when he's using a sword considering that he can still feel his other hand there.
So my question is this. Wouldn't it be possible to channel himself the equivalent of a hand when he needs to fight?
It would show both his skills in two areas. Sword-fighting(the way he earned his title of Blademaster) and channeling(the deft use of it to be of use as a hand).
In a way his hand would really be there.
Imagine him tying a weave to his phantom fingers, if that's possible.

hey, he made a sword out of fire and fought with it, so why not a hand out of fire?
i just hope he remembers when he wipes!
