Well put. What the WoT defenders fail to understand is that we don't support the cause of the villain, and it is not for the villain's sake that we want strong, competent, powerful villains.
It is for the story's sake. It is for the readers' sake. So that the reader can experience a greater sense of peril, tension and get drawn into the story more deeply.
But with the buffoons that have been portrayed as villains in this series upto now, it is hard to take anything seriously anymore.
Someone posted a topic a few days ago, asking which Forsaken will be killed by which good guy or girl before the end of the story?
I wanted to post a counter topic: Which good guys will be killed by which Forsaken before the end of the story?
Sadly, I suspect I already know the answer to that.

RJ finally got a villain right, then killed him in the same book.

The Forsaken are not THE villain(s), they are cannon fodder!

And that's why they're crappy villains

Cannoli misses the point. The Forsaken are all villains. It is the Dark One that is the true evil

The Forsaken are henchmen. Like the eels in The Little Mermaid or the hyenas in The Lion King

Absolutely correct, but you miss the point.

My point is simply that you are mistaking their place in the hierarchy

The Dark One is the threat. He is the enemy from whom the world needs saving, NOT the Forsaken
