RJ based the Two Rivers on the area near Charlston South Carolina where he lived. So if the Two Rivers folks have a Drawl, then they're probably southern in nature. Beyond that, I don't think any of the relative geographical locations and accents match.
Really? I find that surprising. For one, Charleston is on the ocean... the Two Rivers are heavily forested, with mountains as well - do the Appalachians go that far east? Also, Two Rivers people have the brusqueness of northeasterners versus "southern manners". Then again, there is a huge sense of family in the Two Rivers, and that is generally a southern trait as well. I suppose it works.
