If (TP) balefire was used to kill Asmo, that would already be reason enough why he wasn't transmigrated. Nothing indicates that standing in a Gateway, which leads to a place at SG, would hinder the DO to transmigrate you.
I like to think it does. The essence of Shai'tan is what forms True Power Balefire. It's a bit of a paradox to be destroyd backwards in Time, by the very essence that is trapped in Time. It's odd, but I just can't get my head around it.The moment -no matter how far backward in Time- that the thread is snapped/ snuffed out of the Pattern...is also exactly the moment up untill the essence of Shai'tan touches the Thread....
So how would Shai'tan not be able to grab the Thread.. if it's His very essence that does the trick...?
Meh. Because of both the Balefire and the Gateway, both the Time and Place of where Asmodean died are really messed up...
I think it's the only way how you can combine HOW and WHERE.
