I always took the apple trees to be about the apple blossom trees that his family was buried beneath. Perrin will always be haunted the loss of his family.


While you are correct that Perrin will always be haunted by the fact that he was too late to save his family, this Vision was not about that tragedy.

Min never said 'apple tress'. She said 'trees flowering all around him' without ever mentioning the specific kind. I was left with the impression that there were probably lots of different kinds, you know, all around him...

I think it could be a reference to the episode when they found the Green Man in the Blight at the end of EotW. That entire scene was described as being surrounded by spectacular foliage and blossoms and flowers and trees...the Green Man even made flower decorations for several of the characters. That was certainly an important enough event to be Viewed by Min.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced of my own spectacular genius. That is, until one of you point out how wrong I am, then I go back to the fetal position. lol :)
