as for why - well, i can't help myself. am a v quick reader and always want to know what happens next. and then i like to reread soon after to get a different perspective. no matter how carefully you read, you always miss something your first time through.
when i buy the prologues, i reread them until the book comes out and then skim the prologue when i actually have the book.

I take my time and I no longer bother reading the prologue or first chapter during early releases. *NM*

I read books fast. Reading books slow to me = cutting myself off at certain chapters to ration it.
