Everything appears to be dead and the very fabric of reality seems to be in jeopardy. Remember how things like distance become skewed when seen from the characters' peripheral vison? Although, I guess you could argue that this is an effect of that particular reflection of the real world being unlikely to occur and therefore a weak reflection. Sorry, I seem to have gotten off point. I think that the DO winning would fall into the category of MAJOR CHANGE.
