I don't like to pigeon-hole fantasy art to one specific fantasy world/setting. I like to imagine it can be for other settings, like the world of Belgariad (David Eddings), Lord of the Isles (David Drake), hell, even Shannara.

As for Semi, I can see the dusky colorings of her face match the tones on her hands, even through the shadowy veil. That's no easy feat, as you can see the veil is of a different shade altogether.

And for Rand's pose, it seems pretty spot on to me. I just reread chapter 27 of KoD, and nowhere did it describe the ball of flame as multicolored. And Rand told Min to stay behind him as he got off his horse, so her placement could be correct. At least the artist got the correct hand wielding the Dragon Scepter raised towards the attack.
