Imprisoned: Rand will destroy all the black cords attached to the DO using Callandor allowing the pattern to heal itself. (Think of the bore as being a hole that the pattern is pushing back against, but that the DO holds open by reaching through the bore with tentacles.) The last tentacle is attached to Rand himself, which Alivia severs by killing Rand.

Perhaps the cords will be like the Lernean Hydra and keep coming back unless someone else cauterizes the stumps. (I would prefer if it was a lady, but Logain might be a good person to do this.)
