When Rand cut the black cord away from Ba'Alzamon was he severing Ishamael from direct contact with the Dark One? Has Jordan ever addressed this?
From what I gathered they went there to stop the Dark One from using the eye to break free of his prison. So was Ba'Alzamon really the Dark One or was it Ishy? I'm just a little confused on that because it seems like that section of the series is really important and I wasn't sure if it had been explained somewhere or if there was a good theory that covered this. Thanks for the help.
