1) Live or Die?


Die.
Several reasons:
1. He is simply too powerful. Even if he stops being Taveren after TG, his power and knowledge (through LTT's memories) take him so far above everyone else that he will be a destabilizing influence on the world.

2. It is clear in the prophecies that defeating the DO requires the ultimate sacrifice. In some way it will cheapen the story if he lives.

3. Killing Rand is the only way to avoid making the story into a farce trying to deal with the complex romantic relationship he is in.

Too bad rally - he is my favorite character...
