Just because the end wasn't ideal doesn't make it a failure.

LTT.
And failed.
He survived the collapse for a significant chunk of time, despite who knows how many attempts on his life.
Who prosecuted a war against a deity?
LTT.
And failed miserably, basically destroying almost all civilization and destroying the AoL, killing his wife and comitting suicide.
Just because it didn't come out perfect doesn't mean he failed. The war had its ups and downs, just like all wars do, and in the end the Shadow's forces were destroyed or forced back and Creation continued to exist. That's a big Win in LTT's list.
Who battled Ishamael, Aginor, and who knows how many other Forsaken?
LTT.
And definitely lost the war. Plus he was not alone, he had hundreds, even thousands of male and female channelers to help him.
But we know that he battled Ishy and Aginor directly, they both corroborate it.
I wouldn't call that a lost war. It wasn't a clean win, but when you're facing a deity bent on your destruction and you continue to exist... that sounds like you won.
I'm sorry, but if you cannot acknowledge that LTT who was known as the most skilled channeler in the AoL has an advantage over Rand, you're a fool.
He may have been the most skilled channeler in the AoL, but that doesn't mean much when compared to all his failures. He failed miserably.
You've not proven failure. You've shown that things came out less than ideal, yes, but LTT did better than most people could have in the same situations. He managed to eake out the best possible outcome from several bad situations.
