2) If no, then why do you think this tantalizing piece of information was put out like 15 years ago and never used?


I vote no unfortunately, and I think it was something that RJ may have toyed with doing but it won't happen in the series. It would have been very interesting if this was tried on Rand, but trying to control him has already been covered when he was in the box, and again with the domination band, so I don't think it will happen again.
