Internet type loses all the inflections and face cues we use to tell when folks are reacting as mildly surprised, confused, or are being asinine.
It's certainly no crime to be one or more books behind, or to have even decided you couldn't slog through books 7, 8, and 9, but still like to come one the board, comment, read, and post.
If anything, I'm more impressed you took the spoiler well, since I dislike getting advanced knowledge...
