What were Aran'gar and Delana at Graendal's place?

Also why did Graendal even think of making them weave the Compulsion when she didn't even know what the hell was going to go down?

Aran'gar's been hanging with Graendal since she got kicked out of the rebels camp.

Graendal overestimated Nyneave's ability to read compulsion and didn't want to do anything that could lead back to her interests, plans, agents, etc. That's why she had Delana do it.
