There have been many "alliances" we've heard about! We also know that Graendal "never let herself be the lesser of any pair" ... Letting her homeless ally live wither is a sure way to make herself the primary of the pair.

Etzle's just suffering from sour grapes because:

1. He was convinced that there would be no Graendal POV
2. That he was basing his latest arguments that Slayer killed Asmodean on his suppositions that Graendal was dead with no upcoming POV to admit to killing Asmodean
3. Who doesn't hate being wrong???
