I haven't read it, but the descriptions I've seen make it seem contrived. I actually had some doubt she survived the balefire attack at the end of TGS, mostly because the ways in which it would have to play out for it to be true were through ridiculous means. I was hoping we'd see a fair bit of overlap in chronology leading up to the event, rather than a quick jump to the resolution of the mystery in the prologue.
