We've seen Rand cut Asmo off from the DO, could someone turned also be severed from the DO in such a way that their positive traits could re-emerge?

Or would they be saved if the DO is slain?

I believe the BWB implied it was possible but extremely difficult, however I don't have the BWB on me so I may be wrong.
