Oh, sh**, Moiraine! I never thought about that! The comments about her in tGS suggest you're right

The other I find worrying is Moiraine. I have a really bad feeling that Brandon will be a lot more sympathetic to that character than Jordan himself was. Jordan to TFOH walked the very fine line between antagonist and protagonist. A lot of his earlier uses of Moiraine, especially her POVs, was very unforgiving yet not judgmental (he used Siuan a bit the same way - giving us enough to understand her thinking and her actions, but never shying from her flaws and negative aspects either). I would really hate (but fear) to see her return as a "bleached" Moiraine, without any of her grating or grey aspects remaining.
Dammit! They're all talking about her like she's the patron saint of Aes Sedai, too! The shallow and cheap parallel that everyone draws between WoT & LotR is Moiraine = Gandalf (personally, given how RJ himself claimed to have departed from the WoT model early, I would have put Thom as the Gandalfian figure myself. It's not perfect, but none of the parallels really hold up long), and now I'm afraid you're going to be literally right about "bleached" Moiraine - she's going to be Moiraine the White. Especially given how Fain's Distinctions PoV could not have been better written to bash readers over the head with the message: "Fain is Gollum!"

I think this is the type of info that RJ never got around to revealing.

Particularly the way he described sex. It reeked of Mormon discomfort with the topic.

Reeked? Great word. It seemed quite in line with RJ's own dealings with the topic. *NM*

RJ said breasts all the time, but in a more clinical manner - folding arms under breasts, etc
