You are right, the aiel have it figured out. But in LoC Nyneve says that it felt like sweat was being ripped out of every pore because of the heat when they are in Salidar and I bet you they were there for atleast a month, a month of that kind of crazy heat would kill me. Imagine say Georgia in the middle of summer and not being allowing yourself to sweat, Salidar is pretty far south so I am guessing Georgia, prolly not Florida or anywhere that far south. Maybe one of the carolinas. My us geogrophy is pretty weak and I guess I should have given a scene in the books in the original post
