I like Sanderson's way of dealing with the different plotlines. Pacing and narrative logic is much more important to me than strict adherence to chronological writing at all costs. There are just too many plotlines.

And in the end of the day, is Sanderson feels more comfortable writing it this way and it makes more sense to him, he should do it. He's not Jordan and shouldn't try to imitate him at all costs.
