Was it so important that she tell Egwene right away, so important that she commit suicide instead of wait until she could get her hands on the oath rod?
She's been holding back info on the Black Ajah for decades, maybe even centuries and now she can't wait 2 days for it?
There must be something UNBELIEVABLY important in the letter she gave Mat, that wouldnt give her an ounce more time to free herself. Especially ironic since the oath rod WOULD have free her from the dark oaths, as the Sitters were able to do to Talene and company.
Thoughts or ideas?

The initial thoughts on this are:
the closer to the TG it got, the harder it would be for BA/Verin to resist doing the DO's bidding. The farther it got, the more likely it would have been that she would have to expose herself and then who would believe her?
By killing herself, she ensures that what she has to say (BA or not) is going to be listened to cause what does she have to lose by lying? This gave Egwene the necessary information she needed to take down the whole organization in a final blow without having to truly expose herself...and it gave her an out, a chance at being free from any Oaths, a breather so to speak. After playing the double agent for 70 years, it would be nice to be herself for an hour at least...
