Gleeman Knightscape Send a noteboard - 11/10/2010 06:24:24 PM
I totally agree that a lot of problems could be solved with more information dissemination, but how? You don't even have the printing press in this age, much less the ability to disseminate information widely. Word of mouth is the only way news is spread and that's highly unreliable.

So should he spend his money and man power on drawing up a bunch of informational posters and then spreading them throughout the entire continent and/or sending out thousands of messengers that hopefully would give the exact message they were told to give and no one would kill them for it??

Then of course, people would be untrusting of whatever they were told ANYWAYS, particularly since these messengers would likely be total strangers. So it would be wasted man power.

Gather all the Gleeman and Bards withing a city when he first arrives, produce a bag of gold for each and then tell them what they will be informing the people of. He would have controlled a large portion of the information flow that way.

In general I think not properly informing the masses of what they were up against and getting everyone or at least most of everyone on board was Rand's biggest failure in the series.

All good things come to those who wait.

The people of Randland need him - 11/10/2010 01:26:48 PM 605 Views
He's not hated. He is feared because of the inevitable destruction salvation will bring. - 11/10/2010 02:18:30 PM 599 Views
particularly since most of them are totally powerless. - 11/10/2010 03:17:49 PM 501 Views
It makes sense to fear the times and the DO; The Dragon Reborn less so - 11/10/2010 03:18:56 PM 498 Views
their previous "rescue" broke the world anyways. - 11/10/2010 03:24:09 PM 496 Views
The previous "rescue" saved the world but at great cost - 11/10/2010 03:39:18 PM 545 Views
And where do you see people (other than dark friends and politicals) denying that? - 11/10/2010 03:49:27 PM 506 Views
If the people don't know what is at stake, then he needs to tell them - 11/10/2010 04:49:58 PM 536 Views
why will the people believe a crazy man over everyone else they know? - 11/10/2010 05:08:14 PM 483 Views
yes, and it's still a reason to FEAR the dragon reborn. - 11/10/2010 03:56:32 PM 512 Views

I wouldn't think that they would necessarily proclaim themselves. - 11/10/2010 10:15:27 PM 503 Views
When the FS and AS not even knowing this information don't ya think it's pointless? - 11/10/2010 05:58:54 PM 495 Views
If they don't know then informing them would be an important first step in the PR process. *NM* - 11/10/2010 06:28:10 PM 225 Views
