Even if she's a fraction as bad as I make her out, who is most likely to be around for a while?

I'm not sure how tongue in cheek Cannoli's reply is. However, if it is serious, and I suspect it might be, its a serious indictment on him that he considers Egwene to be a scarier character than any member of the Shadow.
One of two things will happen at Tarmon Gaidon. Down one road, the Dark One will be the scariest thing ever in the few moments of horror the world has left. Down the other path, all of the Forsaken and other villains will be dead or marginalized in a very short time. Only Egwene is likely to be in a position of power in five years. So, yeah. Much more scary.

Lanfear and Ishamael are both two sides of the same coin, and both crack me up.

But she's not scary... her idealism is tempered by pragmatism - a benevolent dictator type. *NM*

Someone who compromises her good intentions to keep herself in power - how is that comforting?
