I am merely suggesting that the quote by Moiraine "shall slay his people with the sword of peace, and destroy them with the leaf," has not been fulfilled in its entirety. I thought the wording from Sanderson, that something that took place in the first few books that is small but has big consequences would be that one event. I feel that, perchance, the Aiel might revert back to the way of the leaf perhaps in mass numbers, as in, entire clans turning into gai'shan, or that something might happen due to the non-fulfillment of this passage.

While Rand already "caused havoc with his telling that which should not be told, how will only a remnant of a remnant be alive for the wise ones to save? Surely it cannot be just fighting the way that they are for they are hardly taking substantial damage throughout Randland, except at Dumai's Wells.

Further, you stated that "It seems to me that this same moment may also serve for counting as the "slay his people with the sword of peace and that the "sword" here might symbolize the extra insult faced by the Aiel. It is my opinion that almost everything from the Karatheon cycle that has come about has not been a matter of might, or could be, but has clear evidence.

We can clearly see where he has "leads the spears to war once more, breaks the spears and makes them see, truth long hidden in the ancient dream." I am just positing that we have yet to see the total germination of this threat.

Or maybe I am wrong. C'est la vie
