Way back toward the beginning of the series, Thom mentions several times that Moiraine is quite a handsome woman (with an approving look in his eye). Then in the beginning of TSR, Moiraine stops by Thom's rooms to convince him to accompany Elayne to Tanchico, and there are hints that Moiraine and Thom might having something developing between them beyond just mutual respect.
