Is Laras, the cook in the White Tower, really only just a cook? She seems very mysterious in how she acts (such as helping Siuan and Leanne excape with Min) and in the knowledge she holds. She also later attempts to help Egwene escape when she is held in the WT. I have always been suspious of anyone called "heavy, yet surprisingly light on her/his feet." Could she perhaps once have been an Aes Sedai, or some kind of initiate of the WT? I have always wondered about her and have waited to see if something further will be revealed about her.
