So what's the deal with an allusion to tDR in the new book?

I've heard indirectly that something from The Dragon Reborn, or possibly another book from around that part of the series, pops up in ToM, presumably something long neglected since it first appeared. What is the deal with this rumor? I'm not asking for spoilers from the readers, just wondering what the provenance of this rumor is. Is it a hint from B-Sand about the book, like Jordan's revelation of the gasp moment or was it something circulated by one of the early readers? Is it supposed to be something important like a long established piece of the puzzle snapping into play or trivial like all the tGH callbacks that showed up in LoC (Urien, Erith, fading humanity, etc)? Is it surprising, like something I can't think of, or something obvious that's only a surprise to the casual reader who has long forgotten the early books, such as a reappearance of Aludra's Illuminator persecutors, or Mother Guenna, or the wolf-guy. Could it be a pleasant bit of justice, like Perrin getting called to account for the second batch of Whitecloaks he assaulted and murdered without cause? Or is it something random and not the kind of thing anyone would predict like someone who remembers Faile's "old" name (Mandarb) showing up?
Or is this not a big deal and something that has been misheard before being passed along to me and not at all significant, which would be an awesome kind of very abstract viral promotion, if you think about it, considering the major theme of WoT.
My tongue-in-cheek bet is Egwene giving Elayne a penance for slapping her. Typical.

It's something I said in passing in an earlier comment after reading the book

Okay, so it seems people were telling me about two different things but mixing them up. Thanks all *NM*
