I havent finished ToM (250 pages in) so maybe the answer to my question is somewhere ahead, but knowing that Graendal was "responsible" is making me itch with impatience--

Basically, do we now know how she fit RJ's criteria? Namely what has driven me bonkers has been the "how" PLUS "where" = final death.

Is there an answer as to how and where Asmo died?

How: Graendal killed him.

Where: In the pantry (probably, based on the lack of any creativity behind this 'mystery' ).

c'mon. what i'm talking about is the big deal that RJ made of the fact that Asmo's death was made final by virtue of how he died and where he died.
