Could someone please summarise ToM for me?

I managed to get to about page 400, and I actually can't bear to read any more of it.

The whole thing is cringing mess. I'm not the type to get emotionally involved with fictional characters, but the jarring changes to some of the central ones in this series are awful. The letter presented as the work of Matt is just one one example.

As I've said, I can't actually finish the book, but if that bullshit about dicking around with sound waves is how the oath rod was defeated is true I will be completely let down. What a kop out
! This type of startrek esque channelo babel was rife in tGS as well. Ashaman waffling on about gateways and how fecking clever it was to make one nearby to get to know a place.

I'm all for time lines jumping around the place, but this book has characters bouncing all over the place. Tam being the big example.

I completely switched off with Elayne impersonating the Dark one for the purpose of an interrogation. Tower law be damned. It would be in keeping with the blatantly twenty first century language if she were dragged into the Amyrlins office, chewed out, called a loose cannon and suspended till the investigation is done.

I really want to know how the series ends, but I just can't read this badly written, typo ridden mess of a book.

Very grateful, if someone would bullet point the rest of it for me.
