I personally really enjoy the new Rand. And I can buy that by him and LTT merging into one person, all the madness is now gone, or at least stabilized.
The one thing I wish they would have explained to make it more clear, though I am sure it was true, was that LTT was a very powerful taveren as well. Then, at least as I see it, it would explain why his taveren powers are so strong now.
