1. Absolutely agreed.
2. Didn't know about it perhaps? Or, alternatively, the wards were taken down. Anything Rand assigned an asha'man to do, a Chosen could easily undo.


2) Rand went through it in EotW, and Kaldrin and Loail went to Caemlyn on their tour to ward the Waygates (that is there that we saw them, in the kitchen of the palace if I'm not mistaken).
