I'm just being completely blunt here: I think Ishamael/Moridin is a tool and his usefulness to the Dark One only extends to the fact that he is willing to be obedient with a minimum of regard for his own life. IMHO If he has any of BuddhaRands' powers, it would actually be as an indirect result of the connection they shared after their balefire streams crossed (personally, I think that we need to look at that scene and start theorizing what the crossed streams could mean, because it feels like this is the key to understanding Rand's limitations and possible weaknesses).

Ishamael/Moridin has never been a match for Lews Therin/Rand and despite his ranting, I haven't been convinced that he has any other assets aside from access to the True Power (too bad so few people liked the Wheel of Time computer game - one of my fondest memories was balefiring Ishamael while he taunted me saying "You dare attack me?". Plus we have the POV from him when he was whining about how much the Dark One hides from him - that convinced me that he is out of the loop in regards to what the Dark One really wants. As Rand/LTT said - Ishamael is a thinker and that is his achilles heel; he's so focused on his philosophizing that he misses the point of life and takes it out on the rest of humanity.
