I've read a couple of posts where people are saying that Rand is to the creator what Moridin is to the DO.. but I can't figure out where they are getting this from.. is it JUST from what Nynaeve saw in his mind when she went to heal the taint's affects on him? Is there more?

It's just from the entire series. Moridin is the Dark One's #1 human, he obviously understands the battle better/differently than other Darkfriends (that is, the other Forsaken envision ruling the world, Moridin knows that everyone will just be eaten), he concentrates on "turning" Rand rather than killing him...

Rand is the same. He is realizing that the Last Battle isn't something as simple as a simple sword duel. He sees the philosophical side of the battle. Plus, of course, there's the whole "Dragon Reborn, chosen one of the Creator, mankind's last and only hope, etc and so forth" thing.
