particularly when you're a culture who's "purpose" was fight/survival and no one has any nukes

So that absolves the behavior of the Aiel? If their whole purpose is to fight and wage war, then they have no place in any peaceful world and deserve to be wiped out.
I find it ironic how readers tend to be outraged about certain Seanchan practices and beliefs while sweeping under the rug the equally contemptible practices and beliefs of certain societies in Randland. It was the Aiel who made up an excuse to start a war, simply to have some "purpose" and they properly got their asses kicked. I fail to see how the Seanchan were in the wrong.

The Seanchan are actually more worrisome to me than the DO.

I agree. The Seanchan represent a world order based upon all the principles of evil.
