I seem to remember this factoid coming up in the weeks immediately after TGS. Everyone was pestering him with questions about whether Demmy showed up and how and whatnot; BS replied with "his alter ego isn't female."

The only other things I can point to is what we know about Demandred: he went over to the Dark because of pride. Demmy went over because he was so certain that LTT was the inferior battle commander. Moreover, he was so angry that LTT had topped him in political power, book popularity (no, freaking seriously), fame, and women, that he was not only resentful, but hateful.

I've railed against the Forsaken a lot lately - almost as much as I have against opportunities inexplicably missed by our heroes. My complaints lately have crystallized into having problems saying what is or isn't a Forsaken's style. It might have been surprising that Lanfear could stand to appear as an unattractive woman for so long; it would definitely be surprising if a man as proud as Demmy would show up as a woman. Demandred might hide behind other people, sacrificing "the lesser pieces" instead of the "grand general" - but if he *did* appear, it's seems in Demmy's style to say that he wouldn't appear as a woman.
